DRINKS was an immersive and site-specific theatrical experience that invited you to Laura and Dave’s housewarming drinks; they’ve finally got their foot on the property ladder and want to celebrate, even if it is a dump.
Housed in a derelict house in Peckham, as part of the Basic Space Festival 2017, DRINKS was a fun, and surprising piece of new writing.
You may have first met Dave and Laura at our previous immersive show DISCO; well now the pair have finally got together and have quickly taken the relationship up a notch, but have things moved forward too quickly and are they ready for adult life?
Also at the party is their best friend Laurence, but the close bond they had at Uni has changed and they're all moving in different directions. DRINKS explores the challenges of adult friendship and and discusses the social pressure to settle down and build a home.
DRINKS was written by Sophie Andrea Mitchell and directed by Christa Harris.
London Theatre 1 called the play 'faultless' and 'slick, clever and a joy to be a part of'. *****
Thrifty Theatre called the play 'witty, sardonic, sharp and on point'. ***
DRINKS ran as part of the Basic Space Festival 2017 between the 7th - 12th March 2017.
